Already 5 years that Pied de Biche is breaking the rules, changing fashion, and dressing your feet. Season after season, we revisit the essentials of your wardrobe with the same goal: making high-end shoes accessible by removing all intermediaries. Just like a birthday is often THE perfect occasion to take stock, we’ve played along. If we had to summarize these five years spent by your side in a few key dates and figures, it would look like this 👇

A MEETING

2009

Pied de Biche, is primarily a story of friendship. That of Matthieu and Jérôme! After meeting on school benches in 2009, these two quickly realized they would go far together. 

At the time, as they were entering the workforce, they shared a mutual frustration: the need to sacrifice their budgets to afford quality shoes. It was too much. 

Both passionate about entrepreneurship and driven by a love for well-crafted things, they imagined creating their own shoe brand: high-end, durable, and offered at a fair price. After over a year of working on this idea, they left their jobs to turn their project into reality. 

A LAUNCH

They then launched their first crowdfunding campaign in 2015.

The goal was to raise enough funds to produce and stock the iconic Chelsea Boots. A classic ankle boot style they rethought and reinterpreted. Even today, this model remains a cornerstone of the brand.

And it was ultimately thanks to the participation of 712 wonderful backers (perhaps even you are one) that the campaign reached its target at 395%, and the brand Pied de Biche was officially born.

A COUNTRY

7 and a half months

This is the combined time spent in Portugal, specifically in the Porto region, since 2015. Renowned worldwide for its excellence and know-how in shoemaking, it’s here that our workshops and artisans are located. 

WORKSHOPS

We have 4 main workshops, but dozens of partners across Portugal with whom we work closely every day. 

The one who has always been part of the adventure is Fernando. He has a strong personality but is a master of the craft. In no time, he can detect any flaw in a shoe. A leather lover, he is a guardian of quality.

And over the years, he has been joined by Ruben, Paulo, and Sergio!

A TEAM

That’s the number of people working at Pied de Biche. They are spread across Paris, La Rochelle, and Bordeaux.

In fact, the team is growing so rapidly that since our inception, we’ve moved offices not twice, not three times, not four times, but five times!

A TOUCH OF GOURMETNESS

That’s roughly the number of Pastéis de Nata the team has enjoyed since 2015. These delicious Portuguese pastries often spark debates about who will get the last bite.

OUR FIRST STORE

2017

This year was unlike any other. We opened the doors of our 5 rue Commines in Paris, our very first boutique.

It marked a pivotal moment in Pied de Biche’s journey, which until then was a 100% digital brand.

That’s the number of our models. Initially, our collection featured just one unisex style: the Chelsea Boots.

Today, our latest Autumn/Winter 2020 collection showcases no less than 35 Women’s and 23 Men’s models.

2018

In November 2018, we adorned a lovely 9 rue des Abbesses in Montmartre with a charming Biche — our second boutique in Paris.

A THIRD STORE

2020

Never two without three.

This year, we headed down the A10 towards Bordeaux. And it is at 80 rue du Pas-Saint-Georges that, for the first time in our history, Pied de Biche opened a new boutique outside of Paris.

There is no doubt about it.

If we had to mention one positive thing that happened during this particularly unpredictable year, it would surely be this one #heart.
