2019 Report

A Good Year for Biche
With Christmas behind us, we’re all feeling quite satisfied: the perfect moment to reflect on this year.
2019 was very productive. We reached a new milestone and, of course, it didn’t come without its share of challenges.
Shh, it’s starting.
Enhanced Quality
At the beginning of the year, we switched manufacturers for our women’s line. The previous quality was lacking, and our processes weren’t sufficiently eco-friendly.
We moved from one factory to two small-scale workshops specializing in luxury footwear: those of Paulo and Carlos, located in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Portugal.
Both have an incredible eye for detail, they are highly dedicated and will never send out a pair with any flaws, even when it’s a prototype.
One of our best decisions this year.
More Structure
In 2019, we created new jobs, which remains our greatest source of pride.
Currently, we no longer have interns (although we are looking for new ones in 2020), but now operate with a team of 19 people in key secured roles.
We now enjoy greater stability at a time when things are accelerating, and we are better structured to increase our listening capacity.
Fed Up
Some of you have experienced it—we faced delays on certain models. And that’s unacceptable. Absolutely not acceptable.
We are currently testing solutions. Once everything is sorted, we will share more details. But this is part of our resolutions for early 2020.
Caught Off Guard
Sometimes, we’ve been caught off guard by certain models. It’s surprising how a pair can have mixed success, and the following year, it’s a hit. The reverse can also happen.
This isn’t in our best interest, as it creates surplus stock and ties up cash flow. It also goes against our goal to produce more responsibly.
It made us question how a pair can stand the test of time. In the meantime, we are working on more precise stock management.
Pleasantly Surprised
We spoke about Biche Friday, the equivalent of Black or Green Friday.
It seemed important to explain why it’s beneficial for our business in a context where such commercial operations are often criticized.
We received very positive feedback from you. Thank you for that, we couldn’t believe it.
Additionally, Biche Friday was an opportunity to donate the proceeds to charities close to our hearts. For us, that’s doing business wisely.
It was the customers of this day who decided how to distribute the funds — here are the results:
- 47.6% for Sea Shepherd (for the protection of marine ecosystems and their biodiversity)
- 23.6% for Aide et Action (for the education of children in France)
- 28.6% to be split between the two organizations.
2020
This year, the pre-order campaign for Sneakers Frisco was a huge success and you loved it. We’re thinking of doing it again...
Stay tuned! And for those interested, we recommend subscribing to our newsletter. Plus, we promise to do our best to make you smile.
We’re stepping into 2020 with a sparkle in our eyes, and it’s all thanks to you, so thank you.
We’re always listening, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
