A brief history of Combat Boots
From military grounds to urban streets
This spring, we decided to revive a timeless summer classic with the boat shoe: the gamble paid off! Enthusiasts of this kind of challenge, which is at the heart of Pied de Biche, we wanted to continue along this path: offering you classic yet modern and elegant models.
Following this initial success, we took on a new challenge: tackling the Combat Boots, another staple of men's wardrobe. After numerous sketches and prototypes, we present a modernized version of this iconic style.

The origins of Combat Boots
Combat boots originate from dark times.
Used during the First World War, it was during the Second Conflict that they truly gained prominence.
Designed to protect soldiers from mud, cold, and moisture, they quickly became essential for special units. Soldiers appreciated their high shaft and rounded toe, which provided support and durability. The sole was often made of thick rubber to ensure grip on all terrains.

By the late 20th century, combat boots moved away from conflict zones to dominate city streets, becoming an urban staple.

The Pied de Biche touch
A modern take on combat boots
Reviving this classic was a real challenge: how to preserve its original spirit while making the boots refined? That was the main difficulty with this type of model. A sturdy shoe, yet maintaining the finesse and elegance typical of Pied de Biche collections.
Almost a year after the initial sketch and six prototypes, we are proud to present a modernized version of this legendary style.
The Pied de Biche touch
Impeccable craftsmanship
Its refined design does not neglect technical aspects, which are essential for the true character of combat boots.
Their genuine leather sole is complemented by a rubber midsole, providing real thermal insulation. Blake stitched and finished with a nail-studded heel, they are even more durable. Fully lined with calf leather, the boots are flexible and will follow the movements of your ankles from the very first hours of wear.
