Leather is tough, but...
we have some concerns about its future!
Since our beginnings nearly 10 years ago, we have been manufacturing 100% leather models.
Why? Because we are driven by the desire to produce quality products that will accompany you throughout your life.
Leather is simply the most resistant and highest quality material to fulfil this mission. What's more, leather is a waste product from the food industry, so we don't create any new materials, we just use what already exists.
However, between ever-increasing demand from the textile industry and declining meat consumption – which determines the quantities of hides collected – pressure on supply is mounting and prices are rising.
We therefore had to consider new alternatives.
We turned to recycled fabric. Also made from existing materials, adding recycled fabric to our designs seemed logical and in line with our responsible approach.
We therefore approached our manufacturers to source this new material. After several months of R&D, we found THE recycled fabric that we are 100% satisfied with.
Certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and Oeko-Tex 100, Seaqual® recycled fabric is made from ocean waste.
This waste is sorted, washed and cut into small flakes, which are then mixed with other recycled polyester (of better quality) to make yarn and then fabric.
We are therefore very proud to present TOM & MATTEO, our two new models of leather trainers (of course) with recycled fabric inserts. A dual-material sports collection for men and women, available in several colours.
